In 2022-23, the Clippers improved to 44-38 and made the playoffs once again. They took on the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs but bowed out in just five games. Top scorers for the season include Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Norman Powell, and Ivica Zubac. Paul George scored 1332 points, with 342 rebounds, 288 assists, and 20 blocks. Leonard scored 1239 points, with 204 assists, 338 rebounds, and 243 free throws. Norman Powell scored 1019 points and had 109 assists. Ivica Zubac had 818 points by the end of the season.
The 2021-22 Clippers made it to the NBA Play-In Seventh Place vs. Eighth Place game. Their regular season record of 42-40 was just good enough for a chance to go further. They lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the one-game "winner moves ahead" match-up. It was a great year for Paul George, Norman Powell, Reggie Jackson, and Marcus Morris Sr. Fans are excited to have John Wall in a Clippers uniform for the 2022-23 season. Wall agreed to a two-year deal during the off-season. Wall did not play in an NBA game last season, but when he's healthy, he averages 19.1 points per game with 9.1 assists.
This offseason, two big-name free agents took note of the Clippers success a year ago and decided to join them. The first was Paul George, who signed for 30 million a year. The second was Kawhi Leonard, who signed for 32 million a season. These two moves immediately propel the Clippers into championship status. After several trades, the Clippers ended up with the 27th selection overall in the draft, which was used on Florida State freshman center Mfiondu Kabengele. After the two big moves in free agency, the Clippers were pretty much tapped in terms of cap, so they did nothing else.
George and Leonard join a roster that already includes the likes of small forward Maurice Harkless, point guard Patrick Beverly, and the veteran shooting guard Lou Williams, who even though it seems as if he has been around forever but he hasn’t. He's only 33. If this roster can click, which at times it has early this season, they can give the Lakers serious fits in the playoffs if they want to.

For some reason, forward Blake Griffin re-signed a maximum deal for five years, and reportedly it was more about the money than anything else. Many are expecting coach Doc Rivers to move on before the season is out, and the Clippers will need to rebuild.
