They had a strong finish to the regular season going 8-2, and faced the Sacremento Kings in the first round of the playoffs. The Kings and Warriors went to game seven of the first tround, with Golden State coming out on top. In the next round, the Warriors faced the Lakers. Los Angeles came out on top in six games.
Jordan Poole played in all 82 games this past season. He had 369 assists, 63 steals, scored 1675 points, and 21 blocks. Draymond Green scored 617 points, 500 assists, 74 steals, and 525 rebounds. Klay Thompson scored 1509 points, and 286 rebounds. Stephen Curry scored 1648 points, and had a 91.5% success rate at the free-throw line. The team will look at trade options and free agency for the 2023-24 season.

Klay Thompson played a key role in their great run throughout the season. Finishing the regular season with a record of 53-29, the team entered the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in their conference. In the playoffs, the Warriors faced the Nuggets in the first round. Hey made easy work of Denver, taking the series four games to one. In round two, the team took on the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies had a stunning game five but lost the series in six. The next round against the Dallas Mavericks was uneventful, as the Warriors won it in five games. It was the NBA Finals that proved to be the Warriors biggest challenge. The Celtics led the series two games to one before the Warriors won the next three to win the championship. Steph Curry proved to be a key player in the final run.
The Golden State Warriors were built to win the championship a year ago. With the best roster in the league, featuring Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry. Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant, the Warriors were set up to win. However, they suffered some serious injury problems, but still managed to win 57 games and were the top seed in the Western Conference. They advanced to the NBA Finals, where they ran into the runaway Kawhi Leonard train, which carried the Raptors to the NBA championship.
The offseason for the Warriors began with Kevin Durant announcing that he was leaving for the Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors then used the 28th selection overall on shooting guard Jordan Poole from Michigan. Because of their cap issues, the Warriors were able to do nothing in free agency. The offseason for the Warriors got even worse. It was announced that Klay Thompson would miss the season due to injuries he suffered a year ago. Once the season got started the news got even worse. Stephen Curry injured his leg in the first week of the season, and it appears he will miss the season as well. The Warriors currently stand with the worst record in the league. But, there is good news on the horizon. Both Curry and Thompson will be back next season, and a top-five pick in the NBA draft will allow them to add a marquee player, either via the draft or trade. So don’t expect the Warriors to be down for long.

Believe it or not, the Golden State Warriors are one of the oldest franchises in the history of professional basketball in America, and the Warriors existence pre-dates the NBA. The Warriors were originally founded in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors. After 16 seasons in Philadelphia, the franchise moved out West and became the San Francisco Warriors in 1962. Fun fact, David Latin, the star player on the Texas Western Miners, portrayed by Schin A.S. Kerr in the movie Glory Road, which was about the 1996 Texas Western national championship team, was a first-round draft choice of the Warriors while they flew under the name of San Francisco.
In 1971, the franchise changed its name to the Golden State Warriors, which remains to this day. Throughout their history, the Warriors have won their division three times- 1975, 1976, and 2015. The Warriors have also won their conference six times, 1947, 1948, 1956, 1964, 1967, and 1975. The Warriors have also won three championships, 1947, 1956, and 1975. So as you can see, much of their success came while the franchise was in Philadelphia. The Golden State Warriors are also known for pulling the biggest upset in NBA history when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks in six games in round one of the 2007 NBA playoffs.

For Golden State, this was important, as part of that 67-15 regular season record was a mind-boggling 39-2 record at home. This isn't a complete surprise, as the Oracle Arena is considered the hardest place in the NBA to go win a road game at this point and time.
In round one of the playoffs, the Warriors flat steamrolled the New Orleans Pelicans in a sweep, 4-0, and it wasn't even close from start to finish. Golden State moved on to round two, where they met the 5th-seeded Memphis Grizzlies. Of the four series the Warriors would play in this postseason, this one proved to be the most difficult. Memphis battled and battled the whole series, taking the Warriors to six games before the Warriors prevailed 4 games to 2, and in the process forced Golden State to grind a lot in this series as well.
The Western Conference Finals proved to be a much easier task for Golden State, as they disposed of the Houston Rockets in five games. In the NBA Finals, they faced a Cleveland Cavaliers team that was already missing Kevin Love, and in game one, they lost Kyrie Irving as well. This left Cleveland extremely short-handed and Golden State prevailed in six games to win the NBA championship.
The Golden State Warriors are coming off a marvelous 2015-2016 season. They finished the regular season with a record of 73-9, the best record in NBA history. In round one they faced off against the eighth seed, the Houston Rockets, and won in five games. In round two they faced the fifth seed, the Portland Trailblazers, and the Warriors won that series in five games as well. In the Western Conference Finals, they faced off against the three seed, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and that series went the full seven games before the Warriors won game seven 96-88.

Their biggest offseason move was the signing of forward Kevin Durant, which was both highly publicized and scrutinized. Many people cited this as an example of how the NBA players have way too much power, and it has ruined the league.

This move rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and many were angry with Durant for taking the easy way out. Well, through two seasons in the Bay Area, Kevin Durant has added two NBA championships to his resume.
The Warriors did have some issues during the regular season a year ago and ended up with the second seed in the Western Conference. After easily disposing of their first two opponents, the Spurs and Pelicans, the Warriors met the top-seed Houston Rockets in a showdown for the ages in the Western Conference Finals. The series went seven games, but it was all over the place, close wins, a couple of blowouts by both teams and a nine-point win in game seven by Golden State to advance. The Warriors then closed the deal by sweeping Cleveland out of the NBA Finals.
Due to their cap being maxed out, the Warriors lone offseason move was their first-round draft choice, which they spent on Cincinnati guard/forward Jacob Evans. So far this season, the Warriors are off to the start they were expected to have. They have won seven in a row, and sit atop the Western Conference at 32-14. At the end of this season, they have a dilemma coming. They can’t keep Durant, Thompson, Curry, and Green. Somebody has to go. But who?
