Great American Ball Park History

Great American Ball Park first opened in 2003. It replaced the aging Cinergy Field that year. It was built exclusively for the Cincinnati Reds, and occasionally hosts concerts and special events. Unlike many venues that reduce their seating capacity to improve the number of luxury suites, the Great American Ballpark has increased seating by nearly 1400 since it first opened. The current capacity is 43,500.
