Hard Rock Stadium tickets for football, concerts, and special events are on sale today. The venue is the home field for the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes. It was first named Joe Robbie Stadium when it opened in 1987. Robbie founded the Dolphins and was faced with a massive rent increase at Orange Bowl Stadium in 1976. He decided to build a multi-purpose venue that could also host a major league baseball team. It took nearly two years to build, at a cost of $115 million dollars.
The Miami Hurricanes they moved to the Hard Rock Stadium in 2008. They plan to play there until 2033. Just like many NFL venues, the Hard Rock capacity was reduced to allow for more suites to be built. At its start, the capacity was 74,993. By 2015 the number was set at 64,747. The Florida Marlins played at Hard Rock Stadium until 2011.
