Additional Huntington Bank Stadium Info

Opening in 2009, the Huntington Bank Stadium took three years to build. It's the home field for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. It was first named the TCF Bank Stadium until the most recent name change. It's located on the Minnesota campus, near the northeast side. This 75-acre site called for an open-air stadium, despite the fact that Minnesota winters can be brutal. The cost to build topped 288 million dollars. The University of Minnesota was on the hook for 52% of the cost.

Upon opening, the stadium capacity averaged 50,805 fans per game. The team is currently drawing around 46,000 fans per game. The stadium has also been used for concerts.
