Tropicana Field opened in 1990 with the Davis Cup finals. In the early 2000s, the Tampa Rays moved to the venue. It's one of the smallest venues in Major League Baseball.

In 2023, The Rays will open their season against the Detroit Tigers on March 30. The Boston Red Sox come to Tropicana Field from April 10 through April 13.  The Yankees will play the Rays May 5-7.
