Yankee Stadium History

Yankee Stadium first opened in 2009. The original stadium was open from 1923 to 2008. The current ballpark is just north of the old park. Like many big city projects, cost overruns were the norm when the stadium was built. The total cost of the stadium was over 2.3 billion. Yankee Stadium's field configuration includes a fairly short distance to the right field wall. It's 314 feet to the right-field foul pole. Center field is 408 feet from home plate, left field is 399, and deep left field is 318.  Yankee Stadium is much larger than the previous stadium. The venue includes the Yankees Baseball Museum, a "Ball Wall", a 30,000 square foot clubhouse, and so much more.
