2022 Steelers Game Recap

In 2022, the Steelers finished the season with a 9-8 final record. They won their last four games of the season, but that wasn't enough to get the team to the playoffs. Their last game of the year was a blowout against the Cleveland Browns. Quarterback Kenny Pickett took over as the starter for the October 2nd game against the Jets. He threw three interceptions that game. In the game against the Bills on October 9, Pickett threw for 327 yards and had just one interception. He would go on to have one more three-interception game against the Dolphins, before settling in and playing well against most opponents. Mitch Trubisky played in seven games in 2022, finishing with 1252 passing yards and four touchdowns. T.J. Watt had 50 total tackles in 2022 and 5.5 sacks. He had a pair of interceptions for the season, both against the Bengals.

Steelers 2021 Season Review

The Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 season was the last with Ben Roethlisberger as the quarterback. After 18 seasons, Ben’s last season stats included 22 touchdown passes, 3740 passing yards, and a completion percentage of 64.4%. Roethlisberger has a great chance at making the NFL Hall Of Fame. He’s won two Super Bowls. Ben bounced back from any injury, with just one season where he played in only two games. His career yards are 64,088 and he’s thrown 418 touchdowns.

The 2021 Steelers made it to the Wild Card round of the playoffs. With an overall record of 9-7, they went up against the Chiefs in the first round and bowed out after the loss. Key victories of the regular season include topping the Seahawks, Browns, and Bills.

For the upcoming 2022 season, the Steelers will most likely use the draft to find their next starting quarterback. The team has the 20th pick in the first round. Will Malik Willis be available at spot number 20? If so, the Steelers may take Willis. He’s a very mobile quarterback, but can also make big plays with his arm. Seeing that Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins do not show signs of being a starter, it might just be a rookie suiting up and throwing passes in 2022.

The Steelers signed Mason Cole and James Daniels to contracts for 2022. Both players can play center or guard.
