Chicago Makes 2025 Playoffs

The Chicago Bears took the NFC North division in 2025. With a final 11-6 record, the team topped the division for the first time since 2018. The season started shakily, with Chicago losing to the Vikings in their season opener, then losing to the Lions 52-21 the very next week.  0-2 teams rarely make the playoffs. The team won their next three games before losing to the Ravens on October 26. The Bears won their next five games before facing the Packers on December 7. Green Bay won that game 28-21. The team defeated the Browns and Packers before losing to the 49ers in week 16. They rested their starters for the final regular-season game before entering the playoffs against Green Bay. It took a last-minute drive by Chicago to put the team over the top once again. In the NFL Divisional round, Chicago and Los Angeles played into overtime. After both teams failed to score a touchdown, the Rams scored a field goal with just over three minutes to play, ending the Bears fantastic run.

Bears 2024 Season Ends With Many Questions

The Bears had expected to finish with a better than 5-12 record. The team was excited to see Caleb Williams under center and hoped that he would carry the Bears to victory. By season's end, he threw for 3541 yards and 20 touchdowns. By the time the team faced the Washington Commanders in week seven, the Bears were 4-2. Fans didn't know until week seventeen that the Bears would go on a ten-game losing streak before winning the final game at Green Bay, with a last-second field goal.

The Bears aimed to help Williams in the 2025 draft by picking Colston Loveland, a tight end from Michigan. They picked up a wide receiver in the second round, before going after an offensive tackle from Boston College. The Bears went for defensive players up until round seven when they picked up a running back from Rutgers.

Bears 2023 Review

In 2023, the Bears hoped that their efforts in the draft and the fact that Aaron Rodgers had moved on to the Jets meant that this might be the season where the team takes the NFC North title. Instead, the Bears were 7-10, lost to the Packers twice, and are now wondering if they should use their #1 pick on a hot quarterback.

Justin Fields got hot late in the season, and fans may be ready to see how well he can do as the starting quarterback one more time. D.J. Moore had 1364 yards receiving, with eight touchdowns over 96 receptions. D'Onta Foreman was second-best in rushing, with 425 yards and four touchdowns. Khalil Herbert had 632 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Going 2-9 sealed the team's fate, and it may have obscured the fact that the Bears had a late-season surge. They went 5-2 before losing the final regular-season game to the Packers.

Having the top overall pick in the 2024 draft is still a good thing for the Bears. A top-notch rookie quarterback may make a difference for a team that is hungry to win. Matt Eberflus remains as head coach, but key coaching positions are now open for new and hopefully better choices, going forward.

Bears Make Major Move Before 2023 Draft

The Bears traded their number one pick in the draft to the Carolina Panthers. In exchange, they received D.J. Moore and four picks that came up later in the draft. By the end of the draft weekend, the team chose Darnell Wright, Zacch Pickens, Tyler Scott, Gervon Dexter Sr., Tyrique Stevenson, Roschon Johnson, Noah Sewell, Terell Smith, Kendall Williamson, and Travis Bell.

2022 Bears Season In Review

With the 2022 season complete, the Bears find themselves with an overall record of 3-13. Chicago lost their final ten games of the season, and fans are left wondering what the organization can do to make 2023 an improvement. Justin Fields threw for 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2022. His final rating was 85.2. That put him in the middle of the quarterback pack as far as touchdown throws. His passing yardage was 2242 for the season, which put him near the bottom of the NFL. Fields ran for 1143 yards and eight touchdowns. His nine fumbles did not result in any turnovers.

Bears Make Coaching Moves After 2021 Season

The 2021 Chicago Bears put their trust in Justin Fields as the starting quarterback, and the team had a 3-2 record in the first five games. Fans were excited to see this very mobile rookie try to turn a spark into a fire. The Bears finished the season at 6-11 and promptly fired their head coach. The offensive line will need to retool after giving up a league-high 58 sacks. The run game turned out to be a very lean 3.8 yards per carry. At the end of the season, the Bears fired head coach Matt Nagy. The team roster is strong. Finding the right coach could bring the Bears back into playoff form very quickly.
